Beveridge Audio is pleased to announce the G3, Rick Beveridge's re-design of the historic Model 3. The G3's elliptical shape echoes the graceful lines of a sailboat hull. Not accidentally, this design creates a speaker which is extremely strong and yet lightweight.

Because of its unique elliptical shape, and the fact that it can be placed against a wall, the G3 recedes visually into the background. This makes the powerful sound of the G3, which can fill a large living room (or even a small auditorium!), all the more surprising. The G3 made its debut in October 2007, at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in Denver, Colorado.

G3 Woofers

Although designed to complement the G3's electrostatic line sources, the G3 woofers are also available separately. They feature:

  • Transmission line design
  • Extremely solid construction
  • 10" aluminum cone drivers (linear motion)
  • lower bound of 28 Hz
  • upper bound of 100-400 Hz, with custom pass/slope
These woofers would provide excellent bass reinforcement for other Beveridge (eg, Model 2 or 2sw) line sources. In fact, they would work well with any fast-responding (eg, electrostatic) speaker.

Because of their extremely solid design and construction, these woofers exhibit very small amounts of vibration. In one test, a small coin (US nickel) was placed on edge, on the top of a woofer. After six hours of continuous, high-volume use on a wide range of source material, the nickle was still standing upright!
